Night Cough from AC?

DS has been coughing at night for a while now. Its a dry cough but sometimes he almost seems to gasp for breath while coughing. I was wondering if the cold air could be causing him to cough?

What temp do you keep the air at? Is the vent open in your LOs room? Any other ideas to how I could help his cough? I put some Vicks on him tonight but it didn't seem to help.

Re: Night Cough from AC?

  • It could be.. Have you tried a humidifier?

We're all hot natured. We keep ours at 72. When it gets super hot, we'll bump it down to 70 and/or run the window AC we have in our bedroom as a supplement because it's always much warmer upstairs where the bedrooms are, and our main AC unit is getting older. We also have an oscillating fan going in Holly's room all year long to circulate air.

  • I've noticed that as well.  We keep the AC around 77, but run fans in everyone's room.  We started running the humindifier is the kids rooms a few days ago and it's seemed to help.
