D.C. Area Babies

Any SAHMs doing inhome daycare in Fairfax?

Or have a nanny and want to do a share?  Our old provider is full and the center we use for DS is not going to work out for DD.  Today was her 3rd and final day.  Anyone know anyone?!?!?  This sucks Sad

  • For some reason I'm not able to send you a private message. Sorry to hear you're having a hard time finding daycare...day care is one of my biggest stress points! I think we go to the same DCP and I'm having my second in a few months. Just curious as to your experience with your infant. I'm thinking about doing a nanny share, but won't be ready for at least 6 mos.

I walked in to her hunched over in an exersaucer crying hysterically and the teachers ignoring her.  She had been crying for so long the exersaucer was soaked with drool and tears :( One was sweeping the floor and the other was playing with another baby.  I understand they have other kids to attend to and other things to do but I would like to think they would soothe a hysterical baby.  (I also counted 9 babies to 2 women, the law in VA is 4:1.)  They told me she needed to eat and was tired.  All I kept thinking is so you sat her in an exersaucer?!?!?  It was all so weird to me.  I talked to the director and she assured me it would never happen again, but we've decided not to take the chance.  I question the heart and work ethic of those women that would sit and listen to her cry like that.  Anyways, we are keeping DS there but are looking at inhomes for DD.

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my second LO. Sorry to hear that your DD had to go through that. It's so hard to find good care...GL!
