Hi everyone!
I'm so excited to become a part of the Bump! My husband and I have been married a year but we have been together for 10.... ever since our first year in college.
I'm an elementary school teacher but unfortunately the economy is not the greatest in our area and I may only be able to secure a part-time temporary position for next year and for only 5 months. It was this fact that pushed our baby discussion into high gear! My hubby has an excellent full-time position and we've decided that if I were to get the part-time then we would begin TTC in August or so and if not... well then we would start asap! ( might need a doctor's visit beforehand though)
We are not really sure what to expect or where to begin! So I thought this might be a great place to start!

Congratulations and welcome!
I highly suggest going to www.FertilityFriend.com and reading the tutorials. Get a BBT thermometer ($9 at Target) and start taking Prenatal Vitamins now - any brand will do, Target is fine. Call your GYN and make an appointment for a general check-up, and go to the Dentist if you haven't been recently.
TCOYF (Google) is a great additional resource if you would like more information. Unfortunately many of us have been done a disservice by the 6th grade anatomy lessons and don't correctly know how our bodies work.
Then lurk around on a bunch of boards. All of the boards here have great women (and a few men) on them, but each board has a different flair. Lurk, and if you like what you see introduce yourself. Just remember, if you ask for advice, you'll get very honest, unbiased advice... which may be more than you want to hear.
Congratulations again!
Thanks so much for the warm welcomes!!
I will and have been lurking... its starting to become quite addicting!
I will definitely look at fertilityfriend.... I've never heard of it before! I also didn't know I could purchase a BBT thermometer.... I will absolutely go look for that as well!
I have an appointment in 3 weeks with my GYN... so excited to get started... or at least get the info I need to fully get started!
I also can't agree with you more about my anatomy... I'm pretty clueless. LOL
