Ipad 1/2 cases universal?

I just ordered my Ipad and now I need a super sturdy case. I'm looking online but most dont' specify for 1 or 2nd gen.

    Some are not universal. I know for sure Otterbox isn't. Anything fitted to the actual iPad would have to specify 1 or 2, but something more like a laptop bag style should be interchangeable.

    Apple. I decided to have it shipped to my moms. Rhayna will just have to use my phone for movies and such on the way to MN.
