I'm just trying the optimal waking times from this post and on day two it seems to be successful!

I've got her napping in her crib for the first time! This is a "fussy" baby who would only fall asleep on me and wake the instant I tried to put her down. My question is how long should baby naps be or are all babies different? I've read when they wake up they aren't always done sleeping so I'm unsure should I be trying to get her to sleep longer or trust when she wakes, she's slept enough?
TIA!
Re: Optimal Waking Times - Length of Naps?
Hi!
Personally, I think the optimal nap lengths are at least 1.5-3 hrs long. But no more than 3 hours.
Anything less than 1.5 hrs is likely not restful enough, especially if it is 45 minutes or less, since a baby's sleep cycle is 45 minutes, so less than one sleep cycle is not enough.
If you are noticing your baby is starting to nap shorter naps than usual (or they have always napped only 30-45 minutes) here's a blog I reference for nap troubleshooting.
