I tried to read the First Trimester board - irritated the heck out of me with the 18 year olds asking the same questions over and over again.
I tried for a few weeks with the Month board and noticed lately it is getting kind of clicky and snarky. I generally like to read and reply when I feel as though I can and on rare occassions ask for a woman's perspective on a matter here or there.
But this is the only board that I am naturally at peace and dont really see the clicky, snarking stuff I see elsewhere.
So thank you ladies for keeping it classy and supportive without judgment.
Re: Specifically THANKFUL for this board
I think at our ages
we have decided that snarky and cliquey don't get us anywhere really.
I do find that lurking on some of the other boards for amusement purposes alone can be fun.
Also it all depends on the month board you arein. Mine is pretty civil for the most part and it can be fun to feel younger again ...(sometimes)
I was just thinking how some of the other boards annoy the hell out of me with the "Oh, I'm so old. I'll be 28 this year posts." Or the discussions of what year did you graduate high school and they're all in the mid to late 2000's.
Over 35 rocks!
I LOOOOVE this board. Even so, we can snark. We just don't tend to snark at one another. Now and then someone will link to an especially insane post on another board, and we'll go there and sharpen our claws a little bit.
Totally agree!! Month/Tri boards are...well...all drama. I DO remember thinking a lot of the same things 17 years ago so it's not out of the ordinary - but it's really nice to call here home!
Hear, hear!
Once in a while a particularly inane post on my month board or the first tri board will draw me out of lurking. But my attempts to counter knee-jerk reactions with logic have failed miserably.
And then there are the occasions where I can't resist trying to rile up the young-ins.
But mostly I hang here, or on the AP board (another open-minded group that will rationally discuss different ways of doing things without resorting to flame wars).
So a toast to all the 35+ ladies.
Cheers!
Count me thankful too! I'm actually GLAD to be over 35 so I can be part of this board.
