DS turns out to be the 1 in 25 that has seizures with a fever

M is sick.  It started by him throwing up and he had a fever all day.  Last night he had a fever of 102.4 and he had a few extremely short (less than 5 seconds) seizures.  It was scary but after reading more on Dr. Google and talking to the advice nurse it isn't dangerous and not incredibly uncommon.  If you could send some good thoughts for a quick recovery I would greatly appreciate it.

  • I'm sorry!  DS gets them too when his fever gets high.  It's so scary.  I hope he feels better fast and you can all get some rest.

Do you feel like you got good advice about how to handle it and what to do?  When it happened to DS that was a really tough thing for us to parse out -- we got lots of conflicting advice. :(

  • I'm sorry & hope he recovers quickly.

I know Fricksgirl's eldest has them.  You may want to pick her brain on coping tactics.

  • Aw H, who scary!  Hope he's on the mened asap!

  • I know, how scary.  Frick has been through a lot of Febrile stuff with Alex so I'm sure she'd be a good person to talk to.
  • Hugs and good thoughts going out to you and your little one

  • I am sorry you are dealing with this. I had them as a toddler/child and I know they were scary for my mom and dad. I hope he is on the mend soon.
  • So sorry! Lot's of good thoughts!
