formula question

So I have been giving DS the Enfamil newborn formula..but I will be switching him to the infant one (still Enfamil) after he finishes it. Do I need to mix it so he can get used to having it? Or is it alright just to start giving it to him after I run out? I wasn't sure since it's the same brand. TIA.

Re: formula question

  • I would just change over cold turkey. There isn't much difference in the Newborn one..... I think there is just a little more vitamin D in the NB formula. I compared the two when deciding on a formula and the ingredients are basically the same. I didn't think it was even worth using the NB and changing to the infant one. We just went right to the infant formula and my LO was a preemie. (I EP for 6 weeks or so)

  • Just go ahead and switch right over. DD started in the hospital with similac then we swtiched to enfamil (thats the only one the WIC gives in NY). I used the newborn one a few times then switched to the yellow can

  • I read somewher, not sure where so I can't link it, that the newborn is exactly the same as the Gentlease but they add vitamin D.  I went from NB to Gentlease cold turkey.  No problems here.

  • Thank youuuu! Yea I did see that everything is the same. I just wasn't certain if I could switch over like that or not. Thanks for letting me know :)
