Where has the time gone?

I am sitting here filling out a stupid questioniere for my 10 yr reunion and I feel like I've pretty much wasted the last 10 years.  I especially hate the last question.  What is the most exciting/interesting/entertaining thing that has happend to you in the last 10 years?  I feel like such a bore just writing got married and had a baby.  It almost makes me want to stay home!  Have you done anything exciting in the last 10 years?

Re: Where has the time gone?

  • Traveling some place unique outside of the US? Work awards? Maybe a unique hobby or something like sky diving/bungie jumping? Ask your DH maybe he can remember something you forgot about.

  • It may sound lame, but life in general has been exciting.  I went to college, had a fantastic time, got married, traveled to some great places, built a house, got a wonderful job at a reputable place and had a super cute/sweet/interesting baby.  It may not be climbing Mt. Everest or running big marathons, but it is still fun and interesting!

  • This is what I hated about my 10 year reuion - it was ALL about impressing other people.  The fact that you're a success by being responsible, a great mom, great friend, great job was enough before you got the questionaire - and now all you can do is think about how you compare to people you have nothing in common with except the building you attended high school in 10 years ago.

20 year reunion was SO MUCH more fun - everyone just let it all hang out.  There was no (well, not much) strutting and puffing, everyone was really comfortable with who they were.

  • Well it hasn't been 10 years for me yet since high school but since I graduated I have done things I think are pretty awesome, but I doubt my fellow classmates would think they were as interesting. I say oh well to them. Look through photos and see if something more jumps out at you. However, I think getting married and having a baby is one of the most exciting things you can do with your life.

  • What are you talking about, you've done lots of exciting things!  Remember that African Safari you took,  when the rhino charged your jeep and you wondered for a moment if you would get out alive??    Or how about that time you climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and one of your hiking buddies lacerated his leg on a rock and you had to fashion a tourniquet out of your shoelace and carry him back to the bottom for medical attention?

Whats that you say, neither of those things happened??  Well, your classmates wont know that.  =P
