Hello everyone!
My DS is allergic to soy and peanuts; we found out by skin testing when he was 6 months old. He had a chronic cough so they referred us to an allergist to see if it was due to environmental allergies. He has those too but the food allergies caught us off guard. Of course, we went nut free/soy free immediately in the house!
His first birthday party is in 3 weeks. The baker doesn't alter recipes so I will make him his own cake here from scratch. We're still figuring out what is in food products/manufactured in same facilities, ect. Can anyone tell me what is a good recipe for his cake? Are there any websites that can help me as we work toward getting him on table food?
Re: introduction
Do you have a Whole Foods near you? We were able to get Asher and allergy free cake for his birthday. It was Soy, Nut, Milk, Wheat, Gluten, and Egg free.
I have a recipe on my other computer, if I find it I will PM you later. Also there are some good boxed cake mixes out there that are not manufactured in a facility that handles soy or nuts.
If you don't have a whole foods, then check out those boxes online and see where you can buy them. Also just and FYI the allergy free frosting is gross.
