please look very improtant question

my sister gave my lo breast milk that was bad. does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what i should do? i know your all not doctors so please please dont lecture me im calling her pedi asap but we just moved to a new town an im kinda freaking out

    what exactly do you mean by " bad milk"? was it sitting out to long or what? I really don't think there is much you can do unfortunately either your lo will get sick by throwing it up or diarrhea or she wont, of course I have never had that happen so i could be wrong, hope your lo is okay and let us know what happens

    I hope LO is ok and doesn't get sick. I'm not sure what you mean by bad milk but I found that keeping the breastmilk saftey instructions with my frozen milk when DS is watched helped my parents know what to do. The rules changed a ton since my brother and I were little. My mom said they only said milk was good up to a week if frozen so she needed the guide to figure out how long it could go from frozen to thawed before it was no longer any good etc.

    Same thing happened with my daughter a few weeks ago (bottle was left out too long)-- she threw most/all of it up after an hour or 2. She didn't seem upset at the time or afterward. Now I'm paranoid when I leave her with a bottle lol

    Your LO will most likely spit it up,have some gas, or get some really runny bowel movements.  It will not be a huge deal.

    And a lot of the guidelines now adays are conservative so folks don't get sued.  If it was sitting out an extra hour or something, you most likely won't have a problem.

    Also, if it was REALLY bad the taste would be bad and your LO most likely wouldn't have taken it.  Don't worry!

    If it happens again, I would try to make lo spit up.
