Eco alternative to Magic Bumpers?

Any suggestions on a better alternative for portable bed rails given the chemicals found in magic bumpers?  We're getting ready to travel and would rather not purchase bulky bed rails but since there will be an extra bed there already we'd like to be able to utilize it for our DS to sleep on.  Something about putting a cot, the mattress or a sleeping bag on the floor of a hotel skeeves me out a little.

TIA!

  • Pillows?  You can build wall of fluff around the perimeter lol sorry I don't know of anything but it would seem like limited options since you are traveling?

  • You could try getting extra blankets from the hotel, roll them up, and slip them under the sheets like you do with the magic bumpers.

  • I've heard of people using pool noodles - a lot cheaper though I imagine they contain some questionable chemicals as well.

Agreed - probably not EFF, but pool noodles didn't work for us.  They rolled right off the side of the bed.  I'm guilty of using Magic Bumpers here, but I'm only using one (it came with 4 in the package).  If you're looking for something to travel with, we also have the Regalo Travel Cot - maybe something like that would be better?

I've also seen some inflatable bumpers, but those seemed kind of strange to me.
