I typically post on the June board as I was due on June 2nd but I figured I had a better change of getting some advice with the May board as most of you have probably delivered (for your sake I sure hope so!!) I had a c section on the 27th (10 days ago) and I am feeling pretty good. I have been up and cleaning, taking care of the baby on my own and driving since around day 5. I do still have some pain in my incision but stopped taking the pain medications after day 6 as the pain was tolerable without it and I am breastfeeding. I have gone for very short walks and have been on my feet for long periods of time. I am wanting to start taking short walks around the neighborhood with the baby in the stroller but am not sure if this is safe. I googled this question and recieved a mixed bag of horror stories about incisions opening up and infection from being overly active. I am 28 years old, in good health and have always recovered quickly from injuries and healed quickly from stitches in the past. Am I risking reopening this incision if I start to try to get back to normal? At this point it looks good and appears to be healing well. I am just going stir crazy in the house as I have always been very active and have never been home this long in years!! I think it would help so much mentally to get out and do more with the baby instead of spending the entire day in the house. How are you all recovering and do you have any advice that may help?
Thanks!!
