I tried the thrift stores, no dice. Freecycle is a no-go. I was in the store looking at them and saw some cheaper ones at another store than the one I saw our old model at, but when I checked consumer reports on my phone (thanks smartphones!) I noticed that ours is rated the second best out there, and there was a big difference between it and the one I was looking at. Plus the range for the others just isn't there.
So expensive monitor it is. But hopefully it will last just as long!
Re: Looks like I'm spending $60 on a monitor after all
Yep! And really, for all the b*tching I did about it losing signal occasionally and sometimes sounding static-y, it is very clear and loud, which is important!
