Whitewater- anyone been lately?

I haven't been since I was a kid.  Is it any good?  Specifically the kiddie area?  My niece is coming to stay with us for a month or so to help me with the kids and just get away.  She loves the water and so does Gavin so I was thinking of getting season passes so we can have this as a good summer activity.  Do you know if I buy a 1 day admission will they let me convert it to a Season Pass or do I have to buy the pass up front?  Any other suggestions since we don't have a neighborhood pool and I'm not up for fighting the crowds at one of the public pools.  If I'm going to deal with crowds, I want water slides, darn it!

Re: Whitewater- anyone been lately?

  • I haven't been in years, but my brother has a season pass and takes my niece, who is 4, just about every weekend.  They only stay for short periods of time but they seem to really enjoy it.  I'd consider a season pass if it wasn't so far away from us, so we joined a pool instead.

  • If you go, let me know how it is. Not interested in the season pass, but still would like to take Abigail maybe once this summer, and I've been wondering if is worth the money.

  • They opened up a new water area for kids, under 4 I believe, last year. It's good!

  • We got season passes last year and did again this summer.  We try to go once a week.  Ethan loved it last year but this year he is really into it.  There are 2 kids areas that he can go in and he can do everything in them by himself.  Last year I had to put him in my lap all the time (because he was so little the force of the water slides knocked him back too much) but this time he loves doing it by himself.  I have also taken him in the big Tree House.  The slides there are very tame but techincally he's not supposed to ride them yet.  I asked a life guard and he said that depending who was at each slide they would let him ride in my lap.  They've been fine with it so far.  We also take him in the lazy river and he loves the wave pool too.  I like that with our pass we can only go for a couple hours at a time.  We also do not have a pool in our neighborhood and really enjoy our passes.

  • P.S. There really should be a "People of White Water" website, like the Wal-Mart one.  Seriously amazing what you will see there.  I know I'm no super model but I know my limits when it comes to swim suits...

Awesome!  That's just what I wanted to hear.  I'm not too crazy about dragging Sophie along though, so we might have to make other arrangements for her- at least for the first time so I can get a feel for it.

Bwahahaha!  That is too funny.  I said the exact same thing at Disney a couple weeks ago.  I mean, we were there for Star Wars weekend so I expected those kind of get ups... but there were plenty of other questionable ensembles that really made me think they deserved to be on a website w/ a black bar across their eyes.

I thought the same thing when we went to Disneyland a couple weeks ago!! Considering its a family park, there were a lot of not family-friendly outfits!!
