Just wondering how often ...I thought once a week so their skin doesn't dry out but my sister-in-law who has a 2 week old says every other day?? That seems like a lot to me!
For the first month of both kids lives, we did about 2-3x a week. Now we are doing every other day. My DS gets a bath everyday and has since about 3 months old. It became part of the bedtime routine so much that it throws him off to go a day without one.
I'm pretty sure my doctor said once, maybe twice, a week, too. If it makes them sleep better, twice a week. Otherwise, unless they are truly dirty from playing outside or something, they just don't get as dirty and stinky as adults because we have all those hormones and such!
We've been doing it once a week but plan to increase it soon, especially as we're getting ready to start taking him outside and it's so dusty around here. My understanding is that anything more than weekly is just to get them used to it, into a bedtime routine, etc versus necessary for cleanliness. So, harmless but not vital. He still hates the bath enough that it's hard to get enthusiastic about extra sessions. We do need more practice, though. All three of us.
Cora gets a bath almost every night and at this point we usually use lotion too (she HATES the lotion though). Of course she's been on the outside for 3 months. In the hospital she was bathed twice a week, then every third day.
I guess I'd say once a week. She's 12 days old and has had one bath at home. It was mostly traumatizing for her, and she doesn't get dirty so we figure why fight it more than that.
Every other day. The first time we did it at about 2 weeks, DS slept 5 hours! He just loves his bath and I wanted to start a bed time routine. My doctor said at least once a week for a bath, but we could bathe him as much as we wanted!
We do it twice a week per our pedi's instructions. However, I am beginning bedroom routine tonight so I will start doing it every night. I will still only stick with soap twice a week. The other nights it will just be water.

Every night as part of his routine. We use Burt's Bee's shampoo and body wash and the Burt's Bees Baby Oil. My MW recommends not using baby oil for the first couple weeks because Mineral oil (what's in Johnson's) can be drying and using sesame oil instead. The Burt's Bees is apricot and other fruit oils so we have been using it from the beginning.

we do once every three-four days. Really it's when both of us are here and we have the free time for me to jump in the tub with her.
Bathing her on her own is just to much drama!!
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
