Am I suppose to wake up Izzy tonight?

If you didn't read my previous post- Izzy had a high fever this morning.  Pedi made me feel like an idiot so I really don't feel like asking them this at the moment.

Pedi said make sure I am giving her the fever reducers every 6 hours for motrin or if its still high 3 hours tylenol/3 hours motrin alternating.  And to check her temp every few hours to make sure its down.  So far so good.  Am I suppose to do this consistantly throughout the night- so I wake her up every 3-6 hours for temp check/meds?  Or do you just feel her to see if shes hot?  Whats more important- good sleep or fever meds/temp check?

Dx: PCOS/Amenorrhea/Anovulatory/lining problems. Clomid = BFN's. Lots of cancelled cycles due to thin lining or cysts. IUI#1= Follistim, estrace and endometrin = BFN IUI#2= Repronex, follistim, viagra suppositories and endometrin= BFN. IUI#3= Repronex, follistim, viagra suppositories, femtrace and endometrin= BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isabella born in June via C-section!!!!! She is so incredible!     I'm so sorry the pedi made you feel like an idiot.  The first time C spiked a 103 fever, I called the pedi in the middle of the night.  I was ready to go to the ER.  The next day when I went in, they gave me a better explanation.  Fevers are the body's way of fighting illnesses, so as long as it's responding to meds, you're good.  My pedi also said he wouldn't wake one of his own kids to give meds, so I no longer wake C.

    I usually check on DD when she is sick... I have gotten pretty good at telling if her fever has spiked just by touching her back. We also got a temporal artery thermometer so I can USAF it when she's sleeping if needed. But I have never wokeher to give her meds... Usually if her temp is spiking she I'll wake on her own anyway and we will give a dose then. We never get a full night of sleep when she's sick. Hope your little one is feeling better soon!

    Sorry you're not able to turn to your pedi on this one. I didn't wake him up even if he felt warm. He would wake up if he needed to and didn't feel well. I figured that the sleep to fight off whatever he was dealing with. I hope she gets some sleep tonight and she feels better soon!

    SLEEP!  She needs sleep to get better.  She'll wake up if she's uncomfortable and needs more tylenol/motrin.  Good luck!  I hope you dont have too rough of a night.
