  • I have no idea if they work, but they make those belts you wear to help with back pain. This is just one of the, but there are many out there.

See if you can find a more specialized belt at the hospital??  My hospital has the "Babymoon Boutique" and my doc suggested looking there.  I purchased a support band at Motherhood Maternity and it's ok when I'm on my feet but very uncomfortable to wear while sitting at my desk all day.  Our bellies are getting SO much heavier with twins, a lot of the normal products aren't quite going to cut it for us.  Also, make the heating pad your friend- take it to work if you have to!

  • Belly support belt - I got mine at BRU and I love it (except for it getting kind of hot and itchy by the end of the day).  As soon as I put it on the first time, most of my back pain went away.

  • Have you tried yoga?  I only go once every 2 weeks, but it's helped me learn how to stretch my lower back better.  Mostly I do cat/cow at home in the evenings - seems to take some of the presure off.

  • Yes!! My mid-back muscles get really sore/fatigued. Right about 3:30-4pm it sets in (during the work day....later in the day on the weekend)  It gets to the point where I have to stand up every 10 min. to make it go away for awhile. It's gotten pretty bad in the past 4-5 days or so :(

And actually - a friend of mine who just had a baby a month ago, also suggested yoga to help alleviate that. She said it really helped her. She's dropping the DVD off this weekend for me to check out!

  • In addition to yoga I would suggest you get a lumbar support pillow for your desk at work and a small stool to keep your feet elevated as you sit.

  • I have been having really bad back pain on just my right side..the pain comes and goes. Does anyone know of a good inexpensive prenatal yoga class in Houston or a good prenatal yoga DVD? I'm willing to try anything.
