Last week was LO's first week at daycare. I'm pumping and she's been taking all her bottles and is hungry for more. We've increased the amount in the bottles twice, and now we're up to 4 6-oz bottles. I'm pumping just enough, 24 ounces a day, I hope I can keep up! I have a freezer stash but it's not huge. Is there anything you do to help get more milk? I look at a photo of LO and I massage my boobs. I'm pumping every 3 hours on average, so that's 3 times during the day.
Re: How much is your LO drinking at daycare?
Have you tried taking vitamin supplements? Fenugreek (3 capsules, 3 times/day) and Blessed Thistle were recommended by my Lactaction Consultant. Also, drink a LOT more water...you might be drinking a lot now, drink even more.
DD gets 16 oz while at daycare...usually 4 oz every 2-3 hours.
I would try the fenugreek, and increase water AND calories. Also, make sure you are getting enough rest! I pump so much less milk when I am not rested. If you are really wanting to bump up your supply you can make some lactation cookies....you can probably find the recipe on the breastfeeding board. I made them last week and they were delicious!!!
