Those with Cradles..

So, I had my heart set on a Bratt Decor cradle. We spent a lot on it and now that baby is home we are realizing how unpractical it is. Since we can't use bumpers, the sides are exposed and are so hard. His arms go through the slats, this morning his face was against the wood. It just seems so uncomfortable and he hates it. He will only go in it if he is in a deep sleep, if we put him in it otherwise he screams.

Any suggestions to make it more comfortable? What has been your experience with cradles? I wish we went with a bassinet!

    We have a cradle and LO doesn't particularly like it so we have her sleeping in her Uppa Baby Vista bassinet (nestled in a bassinet holder).  It doesn't bother me, but I didn't spend anywhere near the amount of a Bratt Decor (gorgeous, btw).  I'm not sure what else you could do to make it more comfy without risking safety.  The only suggestion I have is to try a breathable bumper.  They come in 2 parts so maybe it would fit with just using one part of it?  That would provide protection from arms/slats and maybe a little cushion at the solid parts.  GL!
