I just tried to post this from my phone and I guess it did not work so hear I go again.
I went in for my first ultrasound Saturday they dated me 6w2d or 5w5d so that is really confusing itself. They found that I had the sac and yolk that is needed for pregnancy but could not find the heart beat. I talked with the nurse today and they said that there was no heartbeat yet and that i have a 50% chance of having a miss miscarriage. I am trying not to over think every twinge or pain and I never had any real symptoms so I cant even go by that. So I am wondering when did you get to see the heartbeat. They gave me a due date of 1/30/12.
Thanks in advance
Re: ? When did you see you little ones heartbeat
I was able to see mine at 5w5d, however, a friend of mine went in at 5w5d as well and couldn't see the HB, it wasnt until close to 7 when they coudl detect it. She is now 18 weeks along!
Stay calm, *thoughts your way*
I went in for an ultrasound on Friday (I was 5w4d) because of bleeding. The doctor said they might be able to see a heartbeat, might not. They didn't see one, but I was told not to worry. My doctor said that the machine in their office is older and although some newer machines could see a heartbeat this early, theirs couldn't. I would try not to worry since you are still early.
I saw the heartbeat at 7w,1d, and have not had any major symptoms. It is worrisome to not feel anything, but my doctor told me not to worry unless I experience cramping and spotting.
I was able to see mine at 5 weeks 6 days but I think you LO is so small that sometimes its just hard to see. I think I was just lucky.
I went today at 6w1d and was able to see the heartbeat at 124 bpm. I am due January 29th.
I hope you are able to get answers soon. That is confusing about them not knowing when you are due. Can you call the nurse back to ask what they meant?
I had my first US at exactly six weeks and we saw the heartbeat. The tech found it, but it was so tiny that if I talked or moved at all, she would have to try to find it again. My cousin had hers at 6w1d and wasn't able to see it, she now has a healthy little girl.
It's still very early, try not to stress about it. Thoughts and prayers are with you!

I just went through this the past couple of weeks. It was awful and I am so sorry you're having to go through it too.
Two questions. First, did they do an abdominal or t/v ultrasound? If they did abdominal (like I had) then there is a huuuuuge chance you won't see anything. I eventually had a t/v one and even then it was hard to see. I actually had to hold my breath for her to catch it.
Second, if they did an abdominal, did you have a full bladder? I didn't and they couldn't see anything the first time. The second time, they saw the yolk sac, but even then that was it.
Try not to worry. At this point, hours make a difference.
For DD we tried at less than 6 weeks ( i don't remember the exact days but it was 5w) and we couldn't see it. We went back a week and a half later and we could see it.
If you're just around 6 weeks try not to worry. It's usually impossible to see before 6 weeks! Stay positive! That's why my new doc won't do an u/s (for normal pregnancies) before 8 weeks.

I went in at 5 weeks because I was having some pain and all we could see what an empty gastastional (which was normal). I went back at 6w6d and we were able to see the heartbeat flickering away.
Sending lots of T&P's your way {{hugs}}
