Getting LO to sleep longer at night?

So LO likes to sleep for his longer stretches during the day.  While I am fine with this, I am wondering how to get him to do this at night and take shorter naps during the day.  is this something he will resolve himself over time, or should i be doing anything to help it along?  We have somewhat of a bedtime routine and i only swaddle at night, but doesn't seem to help.  He goes 1.5-2 hours between feedings at night with one three hour strech, but he takes an hour to eat usually.  And then in the morning at around 6:30 or 7 he will do a 4 hour stretch, which is when I sleep, too.

His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!

  • Make sure you keep day and night separate. During the day keep it light and loud and at night dark and quiet. Supposedly that helps them adjust since there really is no difference while in the womb.

  • We spent an hour every morning sitting in only a diaper in a sunny window. I don't know if it worked or if she figured it out on her own but she goes about 6 hours at night now.
