Help!!!

So I decided to transition Morgan from her rock and play to her pack and play...and it's not going so well. She will sleep about 4 hours in it...get up and eat...and then every time you lay her back down, she wakes up and cries. Before she was sleeping anywhere from 6 to 8 hour stretches in her rock and play. I want to get her ready to transition to the crib eventually. Any ideas on how I could make this easier for her to sleep in her pack and play? Any one else have this issue? What would you do? Thanks!!

Re: Help!!!

  • I'm really no help but if she's giving you a hard time in the pnp, maybe go right to the crib so you only have to transition one time? Also the pnp just isn't comfy. Maybe she'll like the soft thick mattress?
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

  • I would also suggest going right to the crib. DS definitely slept longer in the crib b/c the pack and play mattress is so stiff. ALso, its just one transition.

  • I also recommend direct to the crib.  I was worried how it would be since DD was sleeping well in the bassinet, but she slept for the first time in the crib last night and it was great!  I actually think she likes the feel of the crib more than the bassinet or a PNP since it has more support.  I wasn't sure if we were ready for the crib but the pedi recommended it.  Glad she did!

I agree with pp to go straight to the crib and also if your not swaddling you might want to try it. I think DS missed the snug feel of the RNP when we transitioned and swaddling helped mimic that. GL!
