My first postpartum period is back. THUMBS DOWN. On the bright side, I suppose I made it 10.5 months, which is pretty great. (We night weaned about a month ago.)
I bought a size 2 Diva Cup and honestly, I'm afraid it's going to hurt putting it in. I had an episiotomy and I have this entirely irrational fear of something tearing when I try the bigger Diva.
Have you ladies used the Diva for the first Postpartum period, or did you wait a bit?
Talk me off the ledge, please?
Re: Period is back, boooo! (Diva Cup question)
I used it for this first pp period, which was at 6 EFFing weeks... Now granted, I only had a small tear and required no stitches, but if you've had 10+ months to heal, I'm sure you'll be fine!
I will warn you, I had some leaking the first few times (again, I was only 6 weeks out) so just be warned. Nothing bad, just a bit annoying.
I got AF about the time you did...and had second degree tearing. It wasn't bad at all...though I did feel a little tinge where I'd torn putting it in (it's taken me quite awhile to heal down there). It is wet, so to me, it seemed the same "difficulty" level of pushing in a dry tampon :P
I still leak a tiny bit, but much prefer it to the icky wet feeling of a full flow into a pad. Have you had sexy time? I'd think if you've done that successfully, Diva cup would be nothing different.
This makes me feel better. And sex is, um, definitely not a problem.
