My mom just called all excited this morning. Seems the good evening my dad and I had was just the start of his clearing.... because he's just about "Ox3" which means oriented to person, place and time. And even purpose ;-)
We pushed them to switch up his pain meds (and dial them DOWN) and go from ativan (for agitation, he's biggest thing this past week) to valium. This took place yesterday. (they had been SNOWING him with ativan still, b/c he would get just NUTS and try to hurt himself or anyone that got in his badarse way)
He had a decent day, and by the time I got there last night, he was having some small delusions (why did they have to be about a missing baby, REALLY, dad? You're not sitting on a baby. I promise. And no, there is NOT schrapnel in your back, it hurts because you've been in bed for a week. Not from a bomb. No, I don't work for the government.) but then we had some really good talks and he was clear.
he had a good night, some real moments of lucidity, and they're all optimistic. My mom is heading there now, and I'll go later today.
Cheeseandrice, I hope this is the end of things. PT was working him as hard as they could on his knee, and hopefully they'll get him up and moving a lot today. He's not eaten in a week+ (literally) and the only exercise he's gotten has been batting the nurses away. lol. So he's got some wood to chop.
But OMG... could it be??
