This is what I woke up to in bed with me

5:00 in the damn morning and this guy is crawling on my shoulder. I woke up because I could feel his little legs working their way up to my neck. I freaked the eff out, accidentally flung it on DS, then it went skittering off. I tore apart the bedroom looking for it and finally found it between the bed and wall. Yeah, I pulled the bed from the wall to get it. As I captured it in a cup it let loose its foul excretions. Now the room stinks because of this damn thing, I can't go back to sleep (DS is finally sleeping decently), and I keep feeling like I have a black beetle crawling on me.

Since I couldn't go back to sleep, I looked him up online and he's just a harmless black stink beetle. Still, it grossed me out. He's still in the cup in the bathroom - I'll set him free out in our field when it gets light. Lucky bastard. The thing is huge too. He's probably about 2" long.

Oh, DS was in bed with me and didn't wake during the whole fiasco of me turning on lights, tearing things up and moving the freaking bed. A couple times in the hunt, I thought the beetle crawled under DS to hide, so I was even moving him around to make sure he wasn't laying on a beetle. He's being such a good little sleeper!
