Can you tell me the reasons why, what clinic you chose, and if you were happy with your decision? What changes in protocol did you do that helped? TIA.
I was going to a clinic that treated everyone like cattle and put everyone on the same protocol. I went to an RE that is very revolutionary in his thinking and tailors the cycle to individual needs. I wish I had started out with him, I would have saved myself 30K and a few years of heartache. I could not have been happier with my decision. If I did not go to this place, I know for a fact I would have never had my babies.
GOOD LUCK! If something is telling you to move on from your current clinic, go for it.

We switched RE's and clinics after our first IVF failed. We switched because both the RE and the clinic were total jokes.
Our new RE increased my Gonal-F, added Menopur into the protocol and included baby aspirin as well. First RE retrieved 2 eggs and both didn't fertilize with ICSI...Second RE retrieved 19 eggs, 18 were mature and 17 fertilized with ICSI.
We are beyond thrilled with our decision to switch! We have two beautiful babies because of our new RE and clinic. We keep in touch with her via e-mail and are actually going to visit her soon to show off our LO's!

I switched after my second IVF. We decided to get another opinion b/c my current RE wasn't going to change my protocol and it obviously hadn't worked. My new RE changed everything about my protocol. Put me on long lupron (first 2 cycles were antagonist and then microdose lupron), I went on South Beach diet for a few months prior to transfer, put on metformin, (lost 20 pounds which was a bonus) added in dexamethasone (sp?) and some other supplements, baby asprin, I also added accupuncture. Something helped...my egg quality was much better, and even though we only got 7 eggs (after 12 during IVF#1 and 20 during IVF#2) I had a 100% fert rate and we transfered 2 blasts on day 5. Something worked!
ETA: I went to Virginia Center for Reproductive Medicine. It's a one-man shop in VA. He has the best success rates in the state, which was one of my reasons for choosing him.

We switched clinics after our 2nd fresh cycle - it was a debacle. We had probably been with our 1st clinic around 18 months. I had serious concerns about the skill of their lab and embryologist plus my RE kinda scoffed when I asked about things like assisted hatching and co-culture. They also pretty much used the same protocol for everybody and we're resistant to tweaking it.
At the 2nd clinic, we made a few changes to our fresh cycle - we did ICSI despite no MFI issues, the lab used co-culture and assisted hatching, we changed stim meds, and I was put under for ER. It took one fresh cycle (a BFN) and 2 FETs (the 1st was another m/c) before we were ultimately successful. Still, I never once questioned the expertise of the drs/staff or wondered if we were at the right clinic. I wish we had hightailed it out of clinic #1 after our 1st fresh cycle!
I decided to change REs for multiple reasons. First of all, I was complexed that out of three IVFs, 60 eggs retreived and 37 fertilized, I never had any to freeze. Secondly, once we went to another RE we were told Dh may have issues with sperm antibodies....all these year and he has never been tested for that! Duh! So that means the IUIs we did were a complete waste of time and money. Third, I did not like being on the REs schedule. My ER adn ET should be scheduled and based upon me and my needs. And finally, once we were at the new RE we were introduced to PICSI, a great new procedure which helps narrow the sperm down.
It seems to have worked! because we are PG so far (haven't had u/s yet). PICSI was a successful. At the fert report they told me DH did not have many that did what they were supposed to do (out of millions!), but enough to use tofertilize the eggs we had.
I also finally had three embies to freeze...so these must be a better quality of embie thanks to the PICSI!
The RE we are at now is Advanced Reproductive Care Center in Irving and Arlington, TX
After 21 cycles, and severe MFI, we finally did it with IVF #1 w/ICSI! Nico arrived 12/3/08!!!

IUI #2 1/10/11-BFN; IUI #3 2/18/11-BFN
IVF #4 w/ICSI & PICSI ER 5/13/11, ET 5/1/118-BFP!! Natalee arrived on 1/23/12!!!!

Pretty much this. Needed an RE that would be more proactive, aggressive. Old RE wanted to do the exact same protocol that hadn't worked.
We did antagonist the second time, I am a very slow, somewhat poor responder. We also tried assisted hatching the 2nd time. New clinics lab was much cleaner, and seemed to be better staffed.
The first time I switched it was because I decided my RE was a jacka@@. I didn't believe he was being aggressive enough and often times was condescending to me. He also had me do two IUIs with clomid despite the fact that I'd already done SIX cycles with clomid.
I switched to a RE much further away but also to one with a higher success rate and who was willing to be more agreessive. I got pregnant so yes, I was thrilled with that decision. I only did IUIs with the first so I don't know what protocol he would have used had I done IVF with him.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
