Is anyone wanting to sell a Chicco "keyfit" brand double stroller, car seats or the car seat bases? If not, have you seen them sold at 2nd hand stores? I found a single stroller with car seat and base today at a garage sale that I never thought I would find, and in such good condition! Now I need another seat and base (would prefer to get bases for DH's car too) and the double stroller. I would just love to save some $ on them since I know they are expensive! I figured I would throw it out there and see.

TIA

Btw, here is my posting on Craigslist.

Do you belong to a local MoM's club? You can try posting on their website to see if someone is going to be selling one.
I would maybe do some more research on strollers for twins. I recommend getting the DSNG for when they are in their infant seats and then investing in a nice SBS.
I used the DSNG with Graco seats, then also have the Double Baby Jogger City Mini and the tandem Kinderwagon Hop. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all three of my stroller choices and can't imagine only have one option to choose from.
I'm practically done with the DSNG right now and we will be transitioning the girls from their infant seats to their convertible seats in a few weeks. They are just getting two heavy to carry both of them. The DSNG is cheap (around $30-$50 on craiglist) and a godsend in the beginning.
While the double Chicco might be nice, most of those types of strollers are really heavy and take up a ton of room when folded. Also, the seats in that double aren't stadium seating. The twin in the back most likely won't enjoy sitting back there because they won't be able to see.
My BJCM is great because is has super huge shade, folds down practically flat (can put in my trunk of my mini van and still can put groceries in the front and around the sides), and only weighs like 20 pounds. It's a great stroller. I am able to push it with one hand which is important since I need another free hand for my 3 year old. I use this stroller mainly for walks and when taking them out to the zoo, acquarium, parks, etc.

My Kinderwagon Hop is a stadium seated tandem stroller that folds practically the same way as a single umbrella stroller. I am mainly going to be using this stroller as my method of taking the kids in and out of daycare since the profile is small. I also plan to use this stroller for when we are shopping. The aisles in most stores at the mall are so narrow you won't be able to fit a SBS in.

Good luck on your search. Your best bet is getting involved in a local MoM group now while you are pregnant. Talk with experienced MoM's and get recommendations from them. They know what works! I've saved a ton of money just by getting used gear through my twins club. All of the clubs have bi-annual sales and the next ones are probably going to be in September/October of this year. Good luck!

Thank you both for the suggestions! I will definitely check them out! My mom had twins and I remember her having a SBS and it was a pain in the behind!! lol It was always too wide!
I've tried getting in touch with a MoM's club near me but they don't meet June-Aug. I tried signing up for the newsletter and haven't gotten anything. I met a girl who is in it and she said that she would try to get me hooked up with some of the people in it during the summer if they have events. My problem is that I'm due Oct. 15th and while their next meeting is in Sept., I don't want to miss it because of going early (as the average for twins, go a month early) or anything else that could happen. I've been on the multiples board here a bunch but it would be nice to have a support group of people near by. Hopefully they have an event I can meet up with people at this summer!
gemduncan - I don't need a single stroller but are you selling the car seat and base separate from the stroller? If so, how much are you asking for it?
Hey, sorry, unfortunately, DH won't let me separate the two.
Sorry!
LOTS have changed since your mom has had twins. My BJCM has fit through every single door that I have been through with no problems what so ever. I believe the width of the stroller is 29" and most doorways are 32" or above.
What area do you live in? I belong to the Northern Kentucky Mothers of Twins Club (www.nkmotc.com) and we meet once a month. You don't have to live in Northern Kentucky to be a member as we have people from Indiana and Ohio as well. Our next meeting is on June 21st - it's actually member appreciation night. We meet on the third Tuesday of every month. There are scheduled events throughout the year as well like Easter Bunny Breakfast, Summer Picnic, Pumpkin Patch, Breakfast with Santa, and lots of playdate and weekend getaways without kids. It's a great group of women.
Also, if you are on bedrest or just delivered during our sale time, you can appoint someone else to be able to shop for you on pre-sale night (i.e. husband, mom, friend, etc.). The yearly dues are only $25 and that grants you into the pre-sale on Friday night. THe sale is open to the public on Saturday morning. You just have to submit an ultrasound picture to our membership director and she will get you enrolled into the club.
Oh, and I thought was going to go early. I delivered at 37 weeks exactly by scheduled c-section after being on bedrest for 10 weeks prior to that. The babies weren't budging and I could have probably waited longer, but I was miserable. I had to have a c-section since I had a prior one, so that's when they scheduled me.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and let me know if you have any other questions!!
