Thanks to those who replied to my post about the swimming lessons a couple of weeks ago. We stuck to it and she's been doing pretty well! She still cries, but she participates in everything and follows instructions for everything he asks her to do. Yesterday my mom actually got in the pool with her because she was crying really hard and she did well with my mom and the instructor. She has 2 classes left and I think either my mom, myself, or DH will get in the pool with her since she showed yesterday that she can still participate and do all the "activities" while there is a family member in the pool. According to the swimming instructor, she is an excellent "swimmer" for her age, so I'm excited to see how she does the rest of the summer Based on how next week's 2 classes go I'll decide whether to do another series of classes or not.
On a totally unrelated note, are any of you familiar with a dentist named Gabriela Rolland-Asensi of Miami Children's Smiles located on Bird and 38th Ave. in Miami? Her office is literally down the hall from my office so, location-wise, it would be super convenient for me to bring Emma to her. I am planning to ask my pedi about her when I take Emma to her 18 month appointment next week to see whether he's heard of her and whether he recommends her, but I wanted to see if any Bumpies knew her. I don't even know when I'm supposed to start taking Emma to the dentist, but she already has plenty of teeth so I'm guessing it's soon?! lol. Waiting to see what the pedi recommends next week...
Re: f/u to swimming lessons and question re: dentist (Rolland-Asensi)
Try calling Dr Webman and Dr. Martinez! Always heard great things about that office.!
Wanted to give you an update cause we went yesterday. It went really well. My DD gets very anxious and she was looking a bit green when we first walked in, but the hygienest was great and distracted her. They put on a movie over the chair for DD to watch to distract her. The hygienest explained everything she was doing and was very patient and friendly. Then when the cleaning was over Dr. Rolland came in to check DDs teeth and she was great too. My DD walked out saying that the dentist was "so fun".
