Renovating and IF...just a vent

Just a vent at how IF plays into EVERYTHING for us ladies. Earlier in the week we had a guy come over to give us an estimate on building a 6 ft fence in the backyard, expanding our kitchen, and making our screened-in porch into a sunroom. He had awesome sketches of what it all would look like. I'm so ready to do it all, but we can't do to IF. We got pregnant with Ethan with IUI (which is covered 100% by our insurance.) If we had to do IVF  this time around, it would all be out of pocket. I"m not comfortable using the money yet when we may need it to expand our family. Just venting and giving another example on how IF interferes with everything.

    First, the renovation sounds awesome!  I really hope you have success with IUI again and don't need to use that money for IVF.  IF truely sucks!

    Have you decided when you are cycling again (or did I just miss it?)

    Thanks..we do too. I just finished all of my testing. The blood work from my day 3 testing cycle showed slightly abnormal thyroid levels (which is new) so I had to get more blood work yesterday.  That blood work will tell me if I need to see an endocrinologist. Jeremy still needs to do his infectious disease blood work and his SA which he's doing soon. THEN we will cycle.  

    Whew...I typed all of that to say it will probably be August or September when we cycle. :)

    Well hopefully when you are KU in the fall you can start your renovation then!

    I finally got a fence last month after 6 years of trying to save for one (and really I only got it because my Dad died).

    We spent so much on IVF last year that we got the tax deduction and we are a two income household (and I only did 1 IVF and I actually have insurance that covers IVF, but not enough!).

    Hope the IUI works for you and you can have a baby and a great new addition/fence/sunroom to play in ; )

    I understand. We did not take advantage of living in SoCal, when we were TTC because we didn't want to spend the money in case we needed to do IVF (which we did). Fingers crossed IUI works again for you!
