I'm not sold on this name yet but want to add it to the list of possibilities. I would prefer it spelled as a single word (not totally set on that though, we just don't want it to be shortened to Mary), but I'm not crazy about using a hyphen.
Which do you like best? Any other suggestions?
MaryAnne, Maryanne, Maryann, Marianne
Also, if we used this as a FN would it be weird to also have a MN?
Re: spelling for Mary Anne
I like Mary Anne best because it looks simple and clean.
It would be fine to add a middle name.

If you want it to be one name I would go with Marianne. If you're okay with a double name I like Mary Anne, no hyphen. Either way I think it would be fine to have a middle name, though I think it'll be a little hard to find one that flows well.
Marianne or Mary Anne
Not weird to have a mn too.

If you really don't want it shortened, I would go for Marianne.
My parents gave me a double name and it never took. Teachers called me "Anna" at the beginning of the school year and that was that.
I vote Mary Anne and no middle name.
If you want to use a mn, I would vote Marianne.
I am a Marianne so I am a bit biased. I also like Maryanne. I have never had an issue with people calling me Mary. I have only known one other Marianne in my life and have always been complimented on my name and the spelling.
I'm pretty sure I was the only Marianne in my entire high school so I never had issues like the Kristens
One of the strangest things I find is that people love to sing my name. It seems everyone knows at least one song with my name in it.
I was not given a middle name at birth, but my mother said she would have used Elizabeth. That is what I used as my confirmation name.
I am good w/all the spellings BUT MaryAnne. That would be difficult.
Our baby girl's first name is Mary Jane. She does have a middle name too.
I know plenty of ladies with double names who go by both (usually "Mary" being the first of the double name). I vote Mary Anne.
Fwiw, Marianne looks like "Marion" to me, and I suspect she'd be correcting people.
I really like Marianne, especially if you're trying to use it as a full first name with a separate middle name. And I don't think that's weird at all. Suggestions:
Abigail, Allison, Belle, Catherine, Caroline, Daphne, Eleanor, Elaine, Faith, Fiona, Grace, Gabriella, Genevieve, Hope, Isabel, Jane, Julia, Katherine, Paige, Penelope, Rose, Renee, Sage, Samantha, Vanessa, Virginia, Violet, Vivian, Valerie.
My favorite is Rose.
