Ok, so I've read all there is to read about this and talked to my mom, but wanted to see if anyone else has gone through the same. I'm 33 weeks and felt wonderful yesterday. I woke up today and felt crampy, and when I used the bathroom this morning, I had light brownish discharge. It continued through the day, just sporadically. It's hardly anything, but enough to notice. I know what if it's red or a lot to worry, but I'm thinking this could be the start of my mucus plug coming out, or beginning of dilation? It's been really hot, so I've been drinking more and more water since I know being dehydrated can lead to cramping. My stomach is SO HARD, and between that, the round ligament pain and occasional cramping, I'm wondering if this is all normal? If it continues another day I will go to the hospital, but didn't wanna make a mountain out of a molehill and am trying my best to stay calm. Her room still needs to be set/organized too!
Re: 33 weeks-discharge and cramping?
I would call your doctor...before I would go to the er (the exchange #) ,
But, because your stomache is hard and your having cramping... I would assume its contractions...
the brown discharge could be from recent sex? but def tell him when u call too.
and I would call in the am. this is my first rodeo. So, I hope u get more answers
this sounds like contractions to me. you would be surprised at the amount and intensity of contractions that you dont really feel. i didnt and havent heard of discharge before you lose your MP, only after losing it. i would def call your doctor just to have it checked out if they think its needed.

I have had something like this. I was losing my MP (it doesn't always come out in one big clump). I have also dilated, too, though I have no idea when that happened. It could be contractions, but they may not necessarily be cervical changing contractions.
If it's the beginning of dilation, it doesn't necessarily mean that your baby will arrive in the next 24 hours. I'd wait until Monday to call, unless you start having contractions that are timeable, becoming closer together, and growing in intensity. Then, on Monday, I'd see if there's a weekend or off-hours phone number to call that you can have.
