Pregnant after a Loss

Dull pain

The past few days I have had some dull pain on and near my left ovary.  It's nothing major, but I do notice it.  I haven't found a pattern of when it occurs yet.  I was just at the Dr. Thursday and didn't mention it to her because I was too excited that we heard the heartbeat.

I have had some RLP and this feels a bit different- closer to the cramping I had very early in the pregnancy.  Any idea of what it is, have any of you experienced it and at what point would you call the Dr.?

I just don't want to call the Dr. with every weird symptom/pain because I don't want them to think I am "crying wolf".  I've called them a lot this pregnancy so I am hoping to get some help from you girls before going to her.

  • I am sorry that there is something causing you this stress. If it really has you feeling like this I would call.......or if you can ride it out til Monday.

  • It's probably nothing major.  It seems like minor aches and pains come with the territory.  But to be safe, I wouldn't think twice about calling the doctor. Especially if you've had issues with previous pregnancies.  That's what they're there for and who cares if they get sick of you calling.  I'd rather be reassured.

  • Your ovary is probably not where it used to be as everything moves up as the uterus grows.  That being said, I like to err on the side of caution when calling and call whenever I have a question that I can't find an answer to.  It's worth the peace of mind and really, that's what they're there for.

  • I will probably call on Monday. I don't think I need to call the emergency line for this- unless it becomes severe. I am thinking/hoping it is the normal aches and pains. The thing that worries me is that it is on one side only and is pretty much right on the ovary (not closer to the hips like my RLP has been). Thanks for the advice ladies!

  • I've had this too. I used to think it was ovulation pain, but it always seemed to last too long and I've had it off and on during this pg too. My OB tried to get a good look at it during my last u/s and couldn't see that ovary clearly...so it could just be the corpus luteum or another cyst but she couldn't tell. No one seemed very concerned about it once we figured out that I didn't have an ectopic pg.

Let me know if you figure it out--I've been curious.

  • I have had this pain too. I actually felt it more when I was not hydrating enough. For me, it was a cyst I had on my ovary. The cyst takes time to dissolve with all the hormones.
