Right now I let DD lay on her tummy on my chest because if I put her down on a blanket, she freaks out after a couple seconds. I know she is still young but I was wondering when you start putting your DC on a play mat for tummy time... or just on a blanket.
Re: When did your baby start tummy time?
I also found this cool mat at BRU.

I didn't purchase it or anything but I thought this would be really neat when she had more head control.
DD kept trying to hold her head up at 1 week, so we started then. She would tolerate lying on her belly (on a blanket) for about 5 minutes, then I would flip her over and we'd play for another 5 or so. Now that she can hold her head up a lot better, I alternate between lying flat on her belly or using the Boppy so she gets a better view. She's good for about 10-15 minutes before she gets frustrated.
Bubblegum Explosion
Keep in mind that tummy time on your chest counts!!! DD#1 HATED tummy time with a passion. She'd bury her face and cry instantly. Her ped said that tummy time on our chest might be our best bet. That wasn't much better...and she's a perfectly healthy 2.5 year old.
Try and try, but don't totally stress yourself out if she hates it. Some babies just don't like it.
