Prometrium....

Alright ladies, I have heard this stuff can be pretty mean....give it to me straight! Lol, what am I in for? I am really nervous but I know it is good for the LO! :-)

I start tonight, what can I expect?

    Are you on an oral or suppository?  I take mine orally at night and I learned the hard way that when it says "take at bedtime" it does not mean with your dinner.  It knocks me out.  But I've gotten the best sleep the past few months I've ever gotten in my life!  LOL!  Other than that, no side effects here.

    Well....that doesn't sound so bad! Ha ha. Yes, I will also be taking it orally.

    I have times where I was fine and others where  it made me dizzy and almost feel "drunk" and out of it for about 30 minutes so the first time you take it I would do it before bed or make sure you are home. I take a few times a day

    I also took it orally and it knocked me out.  I had to take one in the morning and one at night - the one at night is okay, but during the day it was hard to keep going (possible - but difficult).  I also noticed an uptick in my acne (boo!) - but I've been off of it for about a week and a half and my skin is still broken out - so it may or may not be caused by the Prometrium.

    vaginal or orally?

    I took it vaginally and it can be pretty messy Tongue Tied It can also cause spotting from the irritation. 

     ETA: I didn't see you are taking it orally! Nevermind the above. When I took it orally, it made me really drowsy too.

    I took it orally for a few weeks to start my period, and it definitely made me loopy (crabby, tired, super sore bbs, the works).

    I've been taking it vaginally since 3 dpo, and I have had no problems.  I don't loooove sticking my finger up there a few times a day to insert the pill, but I'd rather that than feel like a zombie. If you end up having problems, just ask your doc if you can take it vaginally (it's the same prescription - just a pill you either put in your mouth or up your hoo-haa). GL!

    Taking vaginally -  I've had no issues whatsoever.  It does get a little messy, but not really much more than CM was for me.

    I've been taking it orally since I got my bw back, so I have no idea if its the medicine or just being pg that has me feeling so crappy.  I've always taken it right before bedtime just like PP suggested.  GL!

    This for me exactly. If you are taking orally, take within 30 minutes of going to bed. I had a couple of nights where I didn't go to bed right away and started stumbling around like I was drunk, I got so dizzy and drowsy.

    I only have experience with the suppositories, but they really aren't too bad.  Your CM will be a bit gross (definitely wear a panty liner).  Other than that, I have some wicked constipation and fatigue.  I have heard that the side-effects with the oral pills are more severe.
