DH Vent

I'm really pissed right now.  DH just asked if his nephew could sleep over this weekend?  His nephew lives over an hour away so if I was to go into labor what would we do with him?  I just feel like DH doesn't get it.  So frustrated.  I just wish DH would be more supportive at this time instead of piling more things on me because if his nephew does sleep over that would mean I would have to worry about food, bedtime, etc. for him cuz my husband doesn't take care of any of that stuff.  Maybe I'm just being hormonal, I don't know at this point.  GRrrrr!

Re: DH Vent

  • Did you ask you H why he invited him over? Maybe the kid's parents are going through something rough...

If you go into labor, his parents need to come and pick him up and makes sure DH and they understand that if he comes over.  Also - don't lift a finger.  Don't worry about food, bedtime, etc.  Your DH asked him to spend the night when you are almost 39 weeks pregnant, he can feed him and get him to go to sleep.  And he can also make sure he gets dressed in the morning.

  • Maybe I'm confused, but you kind of make it sound like DH asked you if you minded - is the nephew already on his way, or can you still say "no, he can't come"?

  • Honestly my h has ours sleep over all the time, I figure if they are hungry they will ask or get it, and as for bed let him sleep when he wants to. He's not your kid why worry about it???

  • That stinks! I don't think he's quite comprehending that you can't just leave him by himself if you go into labor.

Currently I'm having contractions and DH is in the garage building something with power tools. I may be in labor and he's building a cover for horseshoe pits.

  • Why does he have to stay over the whole weekend? Why can't he just pick him up and take him to see x-men then drop him back off?
