I got the order of protection

I went and filed a police report for the threat last night and then filed for an order of protection.  XH was pissed when he got a phone call from the police I cannot wait to see how he takes getting served the order of protection.

At least now I have something in place in case he threatens me again.

    Good job! From your last post I would think that was a good idea. Is that the same thing as a restraining order? What do you do about him seeing your LO now though?

    Yes same as a restraining order.  He will not be getting visitation this weekend.  I will call my lawyer on Monday as he asked for supervised visitation tonight

    Good to know. Im pretty new to this and wasnt sure. How will yall handle visitation going forward since you dont have a court order?

    I am talking to my lawyer about giving him supervised visits only on Monday

    Supervised by who? STBXH will need supervised visits I think but I am afraid that will only happen once with a social worker and he will look like worlds greatest dad and get unsupervised.

    I would allow his brother to supervise visits, but only because his wife runs a daycare and by law has to report anything she sees.  Else wise I will talk to the lawyer about who can supervise. 

    As far as your Xh why do you think he needs supervised, if I may ask?

    He hasnt changed a diaper or given her a bottle since she was a month old. He basically did not help with any of her daily care. To me he was mentally abusive and destructive of property when he didnt get his way. He has never hurt DD but done other things that make me afraid he could... Ie. Yelled inher face to shut up when she was a few weeks old.

    Document every thing that you can.  I was told by my lawyer and now the police.  Keep a journal.  If you feel threatened file a report.  The worst they can say is that there is nothing they can do.

    I'm not quite sure what happened but obviously it wasn't good since you went to the police. Good for you. Don't let his words or actions...threats hurt you. Now that you have the order of protection you can go on with your days without him.
