Headache remedies

I remember reading about this last week, but I can't find the original post now. I wake up with headaches almost every morning. I usually only take 1 Tylenol (even though it's on the safe list, it still freaks me out), but I'm just tired of having to take Tylenol right when I wake up. And even one Tylenol doesn't kick it completely. Do you have any suggestions/remedies that work for you? Do you even have this problem? I don't even know if it's pregnancy related. I used to get headaches a lot before I had my wisdom teeth out, but they disappeared when they were extracted in February. They have now reappeared with a vengeance over the last week and a half but they feel different. Sorry if this is muddled. My head hurts.

Re: Headache remedies

  • Call your OB.  Mine prescribed Fioricet.  I can't say it's been a remedy at this point but it helps.  I've had the same headache off and on since last Sunday.

I both ours get better soon!

  • I've been trying to take only 1 tylenol a day, yesterday I had a Pepsi and that helped for a little bit but it was back last night. My OB told me to call if it gets too bad and she will call me in something.

  • Yes, Coke has done soooo much more for me than Tylenol! Nurse one for an hour or two. Also, there is a pressure point in your hands that is supposed to relieve headaches, so look that up.

Do you wear contacts? I've started wearing mine less and my headaches have subsided quite a bit.

  • A few ideas: caffeine, two Tylenol Smile, warm washcloth on your forehead, cold washcloth if warm doesn't work, a shower (steam sometimes helps). If your doctor is OK with Sudafed, try taking one if you think the headache might be related to congestion.

  • My Dr. also told me that if caffeine is what used to work, then by all means, have a can of pepsi/coke and some tylenol.  My mom also bought me the Bed Buddy Sinus Pack and I will heat that up and put it on my forehead for a little while.  Usually my headaches are in my neck and I used to take Excedrin Migraine, Caffeine and a heating pad to make them go away.  I got one the other week that last a few days, but I only used Tylenol, heating pad and sinus pack.  Although it didn't relieve it like I am used to, it eventually worked.

Hope that you feel better soon!
