Birthday timing oops... wwyd?

Tomorrow is DS's birthday party at our house. 3 friends, lots of family. Family is all traveling 1-3 hours to be here (awesome!).

The party is planned for 330. My plan was to eat an early dinner around 430 and then have cake, ice cream, then later a fire and smores.

But I think that DS's friends and their parents would just stay for cake and ice cream if we did it earlier.

So do I have cake and ice cream right away and dinner later, maybe at 5/530? Or leave it as I had planned?

  • does the friends know they were goigt to eat a meal? cause you could pull of the cake/IC thing at 3:30 sent them on their way at 4:30-5 then eat with just the family at 530-6 then you won't be full from the snack before. Just a thought.  How long did the friends plan on stay 1hr, 2, all day?

  • Since it is only 3 friends I would call and ask them if they wanted to stay for everything or just the first part.  If the latter is more the case I would change it.  Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.
