So, we are insane and bought an iPad for our 2 year old. hehe.
Ok, we wanted one ourselves, and bought it for everyone's use, but in large part for Holly for long car trips (instead of a DVD player), etc. I have a couple of toddler apps on my iPhone, and she really enjoys them (and is great at them!)--puzzles, shape/letter games, memory games, etc. She loves Angry Birds, but always shoots the birds backwards. hehe. She also watched an episode of YGG on it when we were stuck in traffic last weekend (I'd been holding that one out for an emergency..LOL), which was very handy!
Does anyone have any cool toddler friendly apps you'd recommend? We have Tozzle (her fave), some flashcards from Parents magazine, and a memory/matching game.
TIA!

Re: iPad
He he - we gave the iPod touch to Ella and bought the iPad for ourselves! I'd be interested though it what everyone says....I'm always looking for some new apps for her.
I only know adult games that are somewhat kid-friendly, but am looking forward to learning about some kid-specific apps.
DoodleJump is another addictive kid friendly game - but I'm not sure how it translates to the ipad...
Angry Birds has multiple versions (Standard, Rio, Seasons)
Falling balls - although there is a red blob when the guy gets squished that may not be 'appropriate'
Ragdoll blast - SO addictive!!
Touch4 - Connect 4
PegJump - The triangle game from Cracker Barrel
Netflix - if you subscribe, you can stream movies thru your phone/ipad
Naturespace - plays sounds like a sound machine (river, songbirds, shoreline, rain, etc.) - we used to use this a lot when Alex was really little and we were away from home. Turn it on and throw it in the infant seat with him and a blanket draped over the top = instant nap.
This idea has definitely been tossed around in our house
We currently have movies loaded on our iphones that he can watch, but then you lose your own entertainment during the drive!
Anyway, I don't know if these are ipad or iphone only but he likes Speak, Piggy (his favorite) and we have Talking Gugl which is eh, he likes when we poke him in the eye though. Mainly he just watches videos, not really using apps.
