We do a family day trip for Father's Day each yr. Things like trips to the beach, a museum, zoo or any kid friendly thing. It is just the three of us which is nice. Most years either his dad or Pop do breakfast with us that morning with the other one getting the day before.
We (meaning DH and I and my siblings) are pitching in to get my dad a new bbq. The one he has is over 10 yrs old. Last year we took him out to his favorite restaurant.
I know BJ Brewery gives out pint glass to all Fathers when you dine there during the weekend of Father's Day that says Father's Day 20XX.
Can you get some pictures of you and D that say happy father's day and frame them.
I know when we were younger, we would take my dad to SJ Giants game for Father's Day too.
HTH.

No clue as to what DH is getting for Fathers Day but in the past I've given him picture frames with all his favorite pics of the boys to have at work or in his office. The boys have done artwork for him, take him out for lunch or favorite dessert.
We're going to a Rivercats (AA Baseball) game with his family, he doesn't know. For FIL, we bought a ticket to the game too (along w/ MIL). For my dad, he's lucky if he gets a card.

I am planning to wake up on that Sunday morning and say, "Uh, hold on, I'll be right back, I need to run out to the store for a second," then I'm going to go get the cheesiest card I can find, sign it in the driveway, and then act for the rest of the day like I have given him the best and most thoughtful present EVER and tell him how grateful he should be to have me for a wife.
It's my DH's first Father's Day. He loves his fedora and so, I'm going to bring him to his favorite hat shop (Goorin Brothers) and let him pick out whatever he wants. Then we will go out for sushi (which benefits me as well, ha ha).
As for dad, we normally do a nice dinner or something, and I get him a gift card to someplace generic. If I get dad a real gift, he always takes it back. So.. I don't give gifts anymore.

LOL, I love this idea can I steal it? I'm also planning on waking up Sunday morning with a headache and acting like I need to sleep it off

I love both of these ideas!
But really, I got him his gift months ago: tickets to see Peter Gabriel at the Greek Theater next Friday. His birthday is the week after Father's Day so it's a combined gift. He's lucky to be getting anything though after the craptastic Mother's Day I had this year.

Re: Can we talk about Father's Day?
I've seen a few crafts on pinterest I might try... something for his office, I think.
I might trace her hand and Boba's hand on different color cardstock and frame them.

The three of us are going to the Giants game (at the A's). It'll be H's first game ever!
My Dad will be getting a card (or three) and a gift card to somewhere (haven't decided yet).
I think we'll do a paint your own pottery thing for him to take to work. and the BJ's pint glass sounds cool!
I was thinking monogrammed bbq tools, but i'm not having luck finding those...
Williams Sonoma has a set right now...a little pricey but they look nice!
