I didn't know what Femara was so I looked it up...looks like it's a medicine to help treat breast cancer in post menopausal women (Letrozole isn't supposed to be used in women of child-bearing age). I hope you're okay and this isn't something being recommended for you. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law and boss are all breast cancer survivors. I would be more than happy to see if they are familiar with Femara....
In the meantime have you been to their website www.femara.com?
My friend has used it the past 2 cycles because her body had a terrible reaction to Clomid. She takes it cycle day 3 - 7 and has been ovulating on it. From what she's told me, she has had no side effects from taking it. I'm scheduled to start taking it once AF decides to make an appearance but I'll be pairing mine with injectibles for IUI.

It's my first cycle with Femara. Femara is medicine used for breast cancer patients but it is known to increase fertility. I had to take the medication once a day from cycle 3-7. From what my RE told me, that Femara has less side effects than Clomid. However I had hot flashes, nausea, joint pain, dizziness and drowsy. Don't drink while on it because it will make your symptoms so much worse. HTH!

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled. However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15! Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!
Surprise! Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due. Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!
Third times the charm! BFP on 4/18/2019, EDD: 12/18/2019!
While Femara was originally used for Breast Cancer, they found that when you suppress the estrogen levels (like Femara does to help keep estrogen inducing breast cancer away) that it surges the LH and FSH to try and "make up" for it, causing ovulation. Essentially.
This is my first cycle on it and it worked very well. I ended up with 3 follies on cd 11 at 24, 20, 18. Do you ovulate normally on your own?
I normally O on my own but the RE prescribed me to take this with my next AF. You take it for 5 days from CD3-7. She says its to give me more chances to get KU. Well when you read labels pretty much all fertility meds say controversy with people who are pregnant or trying to become pregnant. So its up to you to take it or not. On CD 21 they take you in and do bw and u/s to make sure you O on the med. I have heard both sides where some people have no side effects and some have horrible side effects. Good luck!

That reminded me that before you get your subscription (if the doctor subscribed to you) that you can print a $10 coupon. Take it when you fill your script and if you qualify for their Femara Cares Program, you only pay $10. There should be something on the side that you click on. If you know if your insurance won't cover it or it's really expensive to fill, it doesn't hurt to see if they'll take it. Again, I HTH!

Thank you ladies! I have been on 4 cycles of clomid and only ovulated on cycle 3 when I got pregnant with the twins. Since I didn't respond to round 4 they decided to try Femara. I do not ovulate on my own and have had very weird cycles where I would bleed for 3 months straight and then nothing for 6 months. They had me on birth control before we got married and I went off right when we got married and have not had a period on my own since getting married last July. So after 8 months we finally ovulated on clomid and got pregnant. Since then I have yet to have a cycle on my own but this will be my third cycle post miscarriage. Thank you ladies for all of your help!

Sorry a little late on this, haven't been able to get on the computer yet this weekend. I am on my 3rd cycle with Femara. I take it on days 3-7 and the first cycle we had great follies at around 18-20 and got pregnant on the first try. I ended up have a mc. I have had no side effects from it and def had a better response to it than I did with Clomid. The 2nd cycle was a failed one. I am now on the 3rd one, had 2 good sized ones on each side, one was 21 and the other was 17. I am currently in the 2ww. I hope you have good results with it and good luck!
