The risk is highest between 2 and 4 months, but it can happen at 6 or 8 months even.

The risk percentage is the highest between 2-4 months. It drops at 6 months, but the chance is still there till they are a year old.

I still check that my 2 and 4 yr old are breathing at night.

4-6 months is the highest risk and it goes down at 6mo but can happen up to TWO years old. Anything after that is called something else.
