Dallas-Fort Worth Babies

We're coming your way...

We are taking a road trip the end of the month to visit my Grandma. She lives in Waxahachie so we are thinking about getting a hotel between there and Dallas.  She is our main reason for the trip but is not able to see sights with us because of medical issues.  We will probably visit her each day for a short time and then go be tourists.

What are your suggestions for places to see and go with a 2 year old in the DFW area?

And I just looked at your weather for this week...mid 90s for the first week of June?  Is it a humid or dry heat?

In the city of Dallas I can think of a lot of outdoor activities (JFK, West End,etc...)but with the weather you would probably want to do more indoor activities.  Dallas aquarium is nice.  If you are willing to drive Grapevine has a lot to offer.  They have a Tarantula train that takes you to the stock yards in Ft. Worth my 2 yr old loves!  Ft. Worth has a great zoo (much nicer than Dallas zoo).

    Have fun during your vaca!

Also in Grapevine, every Friday night in June at 9:30 there is a 15 minute firework show over the lake.  You can watch from any of the parks.  Other ideas would be to rent a boat for the day or visit the Gaylord Hotel-they throw a party with music,etc...Across the street is the Great Wolf Lodge with indoor/outdoor water park.
