Hello everyone! This is my first post on the BF board, I have been breastfeeding successfully for 4 weeks now (DS is my first) I feed him on demand which seems like it is every hour now! Im going back to work in 4 weeks and I plan to keep BF and pumping but Im worried that he will cry all day and want to be fed every hour like he does now when we are home all day together. I give him a bottle a day and he does good but he still gets hungry an hour to hour and a half later. Did your LO go longer between feedings the older they got? Thank you all in advance!
Re: First post! Back to work question?
Yes, he did add some space before feeding. After I returned to work, he started sleeping more during the day and up for at least 5 hours when I returned from work. He typically nursed half of that time. It seemed like all he did was nurse for a while, but I attribute that to keeping my supply up.
How many ounces are you giving him in his bottle?
You can do it!
I've only been back for about a week, but i've noticed that DD sleeps more during the day while i'm gone and wants to nurse more in the evenings and mornings while i'm home.
I usually leave 3-4oz bottles and there is usually around 2oz left over when I get home and she'll nurse around 6, 8,10 and in the mornings at 4,6 and 7:30 before I leave for work.
Good luck!
