An odd father's day wwyd...

So... my bio dad got in contact with me in October, after finding me on FB a few months earlier. He got brave enough to contact me when my photo changed to a baby on board sign. We met up in November, and then he came for a visit when J was about 8 weeks old.

He is in town on work next week and we are getting together on Friday for supper. I am thinking I should get him something for father's day, but am not sure what to do. At this point he is more J's grandpa than my dad.

I am thinking a card for grandpa, and maybe a photo in a frame? Or an album with some of the pictures we have taken so far in it (he sees them on FB, but it would be better quality in print).

He gave us an exersaucer, my sisters (his other daughters) gave us a nice ($50) present for my shower. He also brought us back souvenirs (for the baby) from the Blue Jays spring training.

Any thoughts? Other suggestions?

A bit more background... in case you are interested in the full story... mom was 19, he was 20. They were only seeing each other a very short while, and it didn't last. She was seeing somebody else by the time I was born. He was around a very small bit in the first few months, but I am pretty sure she edged him out. Being young he let it happen. He is pretty sincere about regretting how everything happened.

    Would it be possible to add in some photos of yourself growing up? I think that would mean a lot to him if he wasn't there when you were growing up. Otherwise I think that the album is a great idea!

    That would be neat... but there really aren't any I would have access to. My mom is a bit of a nut and off the rails, my step-dad moved out of his house, but everything is still at his house in disarray... not easy to put together. A good thought for the future though!
