January 2011 Moms

What a bad night!

LO had such a bad night last night. What gives? He went to sleep at 7pm, woke up again at 7:30pm, 10:45pm, 2am, 3am, 4am, 6:30am....

I mean, he's almost 5 months now...

He seemed uncomfortable at one point in the RNP so I even put him in the crib but it was no better. I didn't think of putting any teething gel in his mouth, maybe I should have. It's so hard to think of these things when you are functioning on NO sleep. My mom said it could have been the weather...who knows!

I really wish I could get this sleeping thing down. Healthy Sleep Habits is taking me wayyy to long to read. Ugh.

  • my LO has those nights. I think we sort of have him on a schedule, but it's hard when there are days that he jst seems to sleep more than others. If it's past 9:30PM and there are no signs of him falling asleep, i know it will be a LONG night. i believe he is teething (well, jst started)

  • DD has a night like that last week. She was up literally every 45 mins. I finally caved and put her in her swing - she slept 8 hours straight after that.

  • I was just about to post something like this to see if it is common for 4 month olds.

DS has been STTN since he was 8 weeks, and last week he woke up screaming, we feed him and he was out in 20 minutes.  this week he is up every other hour and he wants to either play and laugh or he is screaming.

We aren't sure what gives, but I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, and can't survive much more like this.

Is it a teething thing?  the doctor said his bottom gums were showing signs...

Sounds like the 4 month wakeful.

  • Happened to us too. She's five months, one week. It's her worse night ever since she came home from the hospital, she's been doing 4+ hours, then at 6 weeks, 8-10 hours. I don't care that she woke up or anything but it makes me worried that something was wrong with her, you know like if something's hurting or she's uncomfortable. She just wanted to plump her face on my boob and would fall right back asleep.

I'm not sure - but I gave Tylenol, teething gel, and gas medicine tonight - all within the past 2 hours. It seems like this is going to be the same kind of night! I feel so bad for him, but like you I'm a walking zombie and right now I have little patience. My H is rocking him now - I hope he comes down stairs with GREAT SUCCESS! My MIL even stopped by randomly and I just started crying - she went to rock him to but when I came out of the shower he was screaming bloody murder. Poor kid.
  • this happend to us last week...IT SUCKS!  Hang in there and goood luck!

  • I wouldnt use teething gel, but thats just me. I would give just a little bit of tylenol if I thought it was teething pain. I hope you have a better night tonight!
