During my visit with my PCP, today, I asked about Rx migraine medications that would be safe(r) to take while BF'ing. Even while not BF'ing, I'm hesitant to take Rx medication (which was Treximet); however, I had a really intense (can't move off the bed) type migraine, about a month ago, and, in hindsight, it would've been nice to have something to take (even if I had to pump and dump 1x). In any case, he gave me a few samples of Relpax to keep on hand, until I wean and can go back to Treximet. Of course, now I don't even see it listed, specifically, on the kellymom.com chart. (Is it just too new a triptan? If so, would it be in the L3 risk, category?)
Anyway, I just wanted to get your thoughts on this medication. Specifically, if I have to break down and take it, how long should I go before BF'ing (or how long should I P&D)? Or, IYO, should I request that he write a script for another Rx, all together? I just want to be proactive. TIA!
