Thanks for all the advice yesterday. I went to the sale last night, but didn't want to wait in line. So my Mom and I showed up 15 minutes after it opened to first time moms. Of course a lot of the really good stuff was already "on hold", but there was still a lot of stuff! Plenty of strollers to choose from, high chairs, pack and plays, and bouncy seats. A ton of kids clothes, toys and books. Their selection of maternity clothes in my size (XL) was slim pickings, but I was able to find a pair of capris and a t-shirt. They also seemed to have a lot of crib bedding.
I would say if you know what you're having or already have kids, the kids clothes would make it worth going. I found three really cute outfits for my niece and everything seemed really reasonably priced.
Happy shopping!
Re: JBF Hopkins Sale Review
Thanks for the review We might have to swing buy & check it out
I agree there were a lot of clothes! The toy selection was a bit less than at other JBF sales. IME the best toys for the best prices were at the Roseville ECFE sale.
I bought a Bumbo with tray for $20 from Payne in the parking lot.
Inside the sale I got:
A *very* nice Moses basket with very nice blue sailboat linens/pillows for $25. This would have cost at least $100 in a store.
Two See-N-Says (love these) and a Curious George Airplane Toy- about $10 for all three.
A bath hammock thingy - $1.50. Cute fitted sheet for $1.
About $50 worth of clothes, mostly Baby Gap, Ralph Lauren, some Old Navy and Gymboree and a few other brands.A lot of socks, including some pretty expensive socks that were in excellent condition and cheap.
When looking at the clothes make sure to inspect for stains. IME they were pretty good at eliminating clothing with stains at JBF Maple Grove but not so much at JBF Woodbury/ Edina-Hopkins. Also consider the prices. Some people price used clothing for more than sale clothing would be at Carters, Target, etc. Know your brands. For example, Circo=Target, Faded Glory=Walmart.
If you don't know if you are having a boy or girl, I'd probably skip it unless you want to look through the toys/books.
IMO it's pretty important to get in the first night- whether by volunteering, consigning, or being a FTM.
HTH!
