What I did was go to the bookstore one afternoon and sat down with 8-10 different "sleep" books. I read through them until I found one that would work for our family. Kim West has a book called the Sleep Lady (?) and that is what we used for DD#1. I'm about to dig it out again and start with DD#2 as soon as she's feeling better. Anyway, you may want to check a few different options out. Not everyone can do CIO and it's good to know there are other options. Good luck!
I read Baby Wise, Baby Whisperer, Healthy Sleep Habits. I feel like I've read nearly them all. I pulled certain things from the Baby Whisperer and Healthy Sleep Habits. I tried some things that just didn't work for DS. But I did all the research and checked out the forum/posts too under babywhisperer.com and then we came up with a plan and we stuck to it b/c consistency is key!
